What can I ship?

Anything you can ship in your box. Guns, harmful chemicals, and explosives are of course a no-no. Petroleum products are also not allowed in a balikbayan box. We also don't allow sinks , toilets, bed mattress, wooden crates, and building materials.

Can we use our own box?

Yes. As long as it’s a heavy duty moving box. Please avoid using the cheaper supermarket / Walmart budget boxes as they can burst open. Some suggestions include:

Your tracking number will be the same as your INVOICE NUMBER. Your box can be tracked at www.lbcexpress.com

Do you take odd sized items?

YES - If 1 person can move it safely (under 150lbs and the longest dimension is under 99 inches). Customer must contact david@lbckoala.com and provide exact measurements (LxWxH) for a quote. Please note that some items could be taxable.


Can I ship shampoo or liquids?

Yes, remember to pack them individually and wrap it well.


When will my family receive my box?

Expect at least 2-3 months until they receive it. We ship a minimum of one container every week from Tacoma Port. We do not store your box, we keep it moving. Once picked up, your box goes directly to our LBC terminal for immediate processing with no delay.

  • Please note, occasionaly port congestion can delay containers. This is out of our control. Whenever LBC has possession of your box, it will be expedited carefully to your loved ones.

Do you accept boxes from Walmart, Lowes, or Kroger?

No, we don’t. We can only take HEAVY DUTY boxes / LBC or competitors boxes. Our experience is that supermarket / Walmart boxes are not sturdy and may burst open during transit. You may order empty LBC boxes to be dropped off at your door (no delivery charge) by clicking here.

Do you do house pick ups?

YES. Whenever possible, we provide door to door service. Just click on the "book Online" button to schedule your pick up. However, if your house is too far off our route and you wish to meet the driver at a pre agreed upon time and location, we can do that too. We also have set scheduled "DROP POINTS" at certain locations and times.

What is a "DROP POINT"?
A "DROP POINT" is a location where you can meet the driver and truck / van to drop off your boxes. It is an option that allows us to keep prices low for you. You get $5 off per box. There is no need to make an online booking for this. However, it would be very helpful to text the driver at 564-544-2463 to let us know your coming so we can ensure there is space for your boxes. A drop point could also be is a Filipino community association for fund raising. Please contact them for hours available.

Is it cheaper to drop off boxes at "DROP POINTS"?
YES. There is a $5 discount per box if you drop your boxes off at a scheduled "DROP POINT".

I have 10 boxes, do I get a discount?

No. Our prices are already cheap. However, you can get a discount if you bring your boxes to a scheduled "DROP POINT" and get $5 off per box. No limit to amount of boxes discounted.

How much does an empty box cost?

Large Box - $7, Extra Large Box $10. You can purchase from our truck at the "DROP Point" or book a drop off via the website.

Will I be getting a box replacement once I drop my boxes off?

Yes. We offer FREE replacement boxes for ever. Pay for the initial box and get free replacement boxes for the rest of your life.

Can we drop our boxes off early at your "Meeting Point"?
No. There is no place in our drop-off locations for you to leave your boxes. Please meet us during the scheduled date and time.

What forms of payment do you take?

We take cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and the Discover Card. No surcharges!

How far does the driver come to get my box?

The driver comes from LBC Lakewood, Washington terminal and returns to LBC Lakewood terminal. The longest route is currently just over 900 miles and takes 3-4 days to complete. The driver is away from family but is commited to getting your boxes processed as quickly as possible. Please feel free to show some of that famous Filipino hospitality toward your driver. He may have just driven many many hours/ days to get to you.

Do I tip the driver?

It is entirely up to you. It is not mandatory, however keep in mind that gratuities help cover his lunch, coffees and snacks while on the highway. It is certainly much appreciated.

Can you guarantee a pick up time?

We will do our best to meet your requested time. The driver will contact you the evening prior to confirm a time window. The logistics is a difficult one as we have to juggle the schedule to the most efficient route possible to keeps costs low. The booked time is a "suggested time", not an exact time. You will know the exact time slot once the driver has contacted you. Thank you for your understanding on this matter.
